Well what a weekend the last turned out to be at our Lyndhurst Bowling Club!

It started with Saturday morning players in our club enjoying their usual “Saturday League” while on 2 other rinks the B&D Saturday Triples V Swanage was underway. I’m delighted to say Lyndhurst ran out winners and pipped Swanage with this win to take the Division 5 B, Mixed Triples League title ensuring Promotion! Please remember this the first time our Club has played in any another Bowling Association (other than the New Forest Associations!) in our history. Incredible success indeed and grateful thanks go to all those Ladies and Gentlemen players who made themselves available to play in this League on Saturday mornings. Likewise grateful thanks to our B&D League coordinator Neil Calderwood, who organised and made everything possible for our Club to succeed in this league.

Saturday afternoon commenced with a very friendly pre-BBQ roll up (with some new members taking part) enjoyed by all. Following this some nearly 60 members and guests enjoyed one of our “Best Summer BBQ’s” which flowed well on into the evening. Thanks go to Joyce and ALL her helpers on the Social Team (you all know who I mean!) who made this event possible; fabulous food indeed. Also thanks to our local Co Op Store Lyndhurst who donated Draw prizes to the Club. The draw raised about £168 and the bar flowed for our busiest bar session of this season!

Sunday came and again many of our members enjoyed a great all-day “Mixed Pairs Event” with excellent enjoyment, bowling and relaxing afterwards. Thanks go to Match Secretary Keith Hayes for all his organising hard work to make the event a success! Those spectators remaining were treated to a very close Men’s singles quarter final match being played in the early evening to a high level!

This was indeed a very busy, but successful weekend for our Club!
