Green Keeping Team

I would like to introduce members to our Green Keeping Team!

Our newest member is the new Green Grass Cutting appointment Steve Hall known as “Steve the Gardener”.

IMG_4262..Steve joined us at the beginning of May and has vast experience in all matters “Green and Garden” so we are lucky to have him on board. Steve is thoroughly enjoying his new role and normally will be cutting our green early on Tuesday’s , Thursdays and Saturdays completing cutting and tidying up usually by about 10-15am to 10-30 am. Please if you see him make him fill welcome at our club say hello. There is  a strong possibility he is going to join and have a go at bowling which is great! Steve will be working under advice from our Curator Adrian Wiltshire.

Adrian Wiltshire is our Club Curator and has been advising us for many years now all in a voluntary role.

Adrian is very well known in the local Lyndhurst Community, he is a Parish Councillor, Chairman of Lyndhurst Royal British Legion Branch and is President of Lyndhurst Working Men’s Club. Adrian was the Green Keeper at  Bramshaw Golf Club for more years than we can remember so grass, greens and all associated matters are in his blood. We are extremely fortunate to have his vast and varied experience to help us keep our Green in tip top condition for bowling.

Ray Mitchell ( sorry no photo at present ) has also been with us at our Club for many years, is well known locally and what he does for us is invaluable.

Ray has many roles and all of his time is voluntary to which we are immensely grateful indeed. He acts as reserve Green Grass Cutter, applies Weedkiller and Treatments as necessary, applies fertilisers and does our Verti Cutting ( both deep and regular verti work ). Ray is fully qualified and certificated which is so important for us.  Also should you see Ray about please say hello. If the Green has been treated there are normally signs informing members to wash their hands after play.

“Without this extremely important group and team we would be unlikely to function as a Club so a huge thank you on behalf of us all!”

John Howell, Club President
