LBC Secretary Role – Vacant

To all Club members, you will have read in the Autumn Newsletter that our long standing Club Secretary Geoff Baker, will be standing down at our AGM this Thursday 21st November, after 25 years as Club Secretary ?

Too that end, Our Club is now in need of a “New Secretary to replace Geoff’s role? ”        The good news is, Geoff is not leaving LBC, he will be around and on hand to offer all advice and guidance willingly to whoever comes forward to “Have a go” at this important role. Any Club or Organisation needs to have a Secretary and this is important to our Bowling Club here at Lyndhurst too. When discussing Geoff’s impeding departure at Committee, it was suggested the full role of Secretary could be sub divided into 2 or 3 roles to help those who may be interested. There could be a General Admin Role, a Membership Role and perhaps a Committee Minutes Role which may help to ease the burden. Any Secretary can work from home on the computer and many things can be done by email or telephone and this often suits some people and can be worthwhile?

Please I would urge any interested member to speak to me (in confidence if necessary) about any of the proposed roles, so I could outline the details and basically “Whats involved” in the job?

Please remember your bowling, at whatever level, your club, your fun and enjoyment at our Club depends on having members of that club being able to help and assist its running! Thank you very much for reading this important Blog and fingers crossed!

John (President)
