Socials.

Thank you to all of you who have supported our “Summer Socials”. All the events, Wednesday Themed Club Nights (Hot Dogs, Fish and Chips and Wine and Cheese) plus our Summer BBQ have been a real success! Seeing members enjoying themselves, making new friends and raising club funds, supporting our “Draws” is a nice aspect of our Bowling Club. Special thanks indeed go to those members (too many to name) who have helped with hard work, to make this all happen! Please if you feel you may be able to help out on a small social team contact, Colin or John that would be appreciated.

The Saturday Morning League has carried on doing well to okay for those attending. These have been supported by those who still work full time, yes you would be surprised we still have members working !!! Thanks to Dereck and Neil for their efforts. On league bowling the Mens season has finished but success in the Mens league cups has been achieved for the 1st Team through to the semi finals and the 2nd Team through to round 2! The Ladies Teams have 3-4 more matches still to go so more bowling there. For general information we now have a good supply of “Club Shirts” Ladies and Gents all sizes, Mens Jackets and Baseball style hats, (Bucket hats will be re ordered) Club Bowls Cloths? Coaching

Colin has organised a day of coaching (as per the earlier blog) now confirmed taking place at our Lyndhurst Club, 10-6pm next Wednesday 24th August. Please checked notice board or contact Colin for information on spaces. This is priced at £10 per person which represents excellent value.

The Green

With the the exceptional hot weather during July and August our green has been under stress. The Green Team have been working hard to do their best but we have have had a few difficulties? Our watering system has been on throughout at night, however a problem was detected and has now been dealt with. Problems also identified with our mowers, scarifier and even in the hot weather difficulties carry out the actual work needed. The Committee have set up a new survey process of all things green related with a view to improvement to our green throughout the winter and well into the 2023 season! We will keep you all posted on this. If you feel you could assist with the green team in the future please contact John, Neil, Colin or Mike that would be appreciated?

Club Nights

With effect from next Wednesday 24th August (after the coaching) the Club Nights will start at 5-15pm to register and a prompt 5-30 pm start please. This is due to the failing light around the 8 pm time. Other Monday and Friday Rolls and our Saturday Mornings league times are the same?

Thanks from me as President goes out to all of you our members for supporting, helping out and making our Lyndhurst Bowling Club what’s it is!

Sincerely John H (President)
