Now that the date of our Annual General Meeting has passed, I am able to update members on the results of the “postal ballot” which was necessary due the current government restrictions.

We asked for a high number of responses from you and I am delighted to say that 47 of our members in total replied and voted which is very good indeed. I would like to say a big “Thank You” to all of you who used their postal vote! A reminder the vote was for the Approval of: No 1, The 2019 AGM Minutes, (46, with 1 waiver) No 2, Audited Accounts 2019, (47) No 3, The Re Election of Current Standing Committee Management (47) and No 4, The Re Election of Current Standing Ladies Committee (45, with 2 waivers).

All four of these motions were therefore voted for approved and passed successfully, (actual votes for each area are shown in brackets above.) The Nomination for the New Treasurer, Mike McCrossan, the Nomination for the  New Club Captain, Adrian Goddard and the Nomination for New Committee Member, Trevor Binge were also all approved. As you the members have now voted your New 2021 Committee in place, we will promise to diligently and effectively run the business of Lyndhurst Bowling Club on behalf of ALL our members. We are still hoping though (restrictions and safety permitting) to hold our AGM in person for people to attend, on Wednesday 27th January 2020, at Lyndhurst Community Centre. If that meeting is able to go ahead then these votes will be carried forward to that meeting.

Since the information was sent out to you, Marie Smith has kindly stepped forward as a Nomination for the Ladies Secretary which is very good news. She is proposed by Cliff Grunwell and Seconded by Joan Grunwell and will be voted on at our next full Committee Meeting. I can report on some progress in recruiting more Ladies to the Committee and hope to be able to tell you more in the New Year. I should like to offer a “Big Welcome” to all those people mentioned, for being prepared to come forward onto “Your Club Committee” to give their time and help for you all, thank you.
