RACE NIGHT

Dear Members

I am absolutely delighted to inform you that we raised over £800 on our recent Race Night! Massive thanks go to you all who supported the evening and your bowling club. Thanks also for bringing along your guests who made up a quarter of the audience on the night. Massive thanks also go to Mike McCrossan who managed to obtain over £400 (half of what we made) from sponsorship of the races and the horses from our local community businesses here in Lyndhurst and beyond. This included some individuals who also sponsored the evening including our own club members thank you all.

Of course appreciating others such as Sarah and Sue who took all the bets, odds on all of the races and finances and Joyce and the social team for all their organising efforts.

Please if you were unable to make this fundraising event could I ask for your support (and your guests) at our many summer Club Night Themed Evenings arranged. Details at the end of this post, or on the website and full details on the socials notice board in the clubhouse. With ever increasing costs at our Club all support for events is very gratefully received, as is your loyalty. Our winter socials in 2023 – so far that is Skittles, Quiz Night and then the Race Night – have raised just over £1555 for our Club, a fantastic effort so let’s try and keep this up! But of course also enjoy ourselves at the Bowling Club at the same time during this season and summer warmer months.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Wednesday 10th May “A Kings Meal” after club night. Fish and Chips from our local shop! It’s £7.50 per person (you don’t have to bowl and visitors welcomed.) See this post for full details and please get your names down on the notice board. Anything Coronation related  Hat, clothes if you want! (Please note we are not doing any other Coronation Event so this is your chance) A prize is going on the evening!

Wednesday 24th May after club night, A Cornish Pasty and Can of Cider West Country Theme £5 per person (These will be fresh authentic cooked and made Cornish Pasties brought to Hampshire on the day from Cornwall and re heated, lovely) A real “West Country Supper”

Wednesday 7th June An “Aussie Roll Up with Hot Dogs cooked on the Barbie and a Can of Fosters” in the price of £5 per person. Bush Hats or Aussie Hat welcomed, prize going!

Wednesday 24th June after club night we have a Cheese and Wine Evening, more details to follow with a further two more events in July and August!

Saturday 19th August A Big Date for your diaries in advance ;“The Bowling Club Summer Barbecue“!!! Salmon and Steak and the Works!

As you see the Social Team are busy meeting and working hard for you our members, your friends and guests to enjoy your club, fellow members and friends and socialising!
