I am delighted to announce that Lyndhurst Bowling Club’s “Green” will be “OPEN” – for limited play only at this time – with effect from this coming
Saturday 23^rd May from 10am!

Bowls England, following advice from the government, are permitting Bowling Clubs to open and bowling to take place providing they follow procedures and rules. For those of our club “members” wishing to play I will set out the guidance and rules for players in a further message, “Part II” whihc you can read by clicking HERE. Of course in the current Corona Virus crisis, I am already aware that a number of you have indicated they will not be able to bowl this season. When you feel the time is right for you to return to our friendly club, you will be made very welcome and we all wish you continued good health.

The committee has looked carefully at the safest way to bowl, adhering to the rules but making it fair for all those who wish to play. The size of our green only permits 6 players in total on 3 rinks on the Green and in the Grounds (The only exception will be a committee member checking on the arrangements on behalf of the club). Sorry but NO spectators whatsoever!

At Lyndhurst Bowling Club we want our members to remain healthy in these challenging times and we have a “duty of care” to you all in this regards. If the rules are followed with common sense and fairness it will enable us all to bowl safely and hopefully enjoy the great game! The physical and mental well being of our bowling community means that outdoor bowling, 2 metres socially and bowling distancing apart, can commence within the guidelines. We are always open to feedback and welcome it, so if there are any changes or tweaking you feel is needed, please pass onto your committee to look at.

Full details will be set out in the further message “Coronavirus message Part II”, to follow shortly. The instructions are obvious but we do have to set these out by law, however we welcome as many to bowl at our Club safely and enjoyably this season.
